Taxi Chain
Taxi Chain is a Toronto-based roots rock Celtic funk band founded in 1993 by renowned piper and songwriter Grier Coppins (formerly of Rare Air). Known for an innovative, genre-bending sound, they blend bagpipes with saxophone, roots rock, funk and traditional music.
Their music is celebrated for its technical aptness, diversity, and irreverent spirit, with critics noting their ability to make bagpipes “get the blues." Taxi Chain has featured a host of seasoned players over the years and boasts an original repertoire of jam band proportions.
They have recorded 5 albums over a 30 years span.
