Known among locals and tourists as “the most hauntingly beautiful voice of the French Quarter streets”, Sariyah Idan is a New Orleans based acoustic soul singer-songwriter and band leader with intoxicating stage presence and influences extending into jazz, latin, flamenco, klezmer, reggae, and spoken word. She weaves unique sonics while her poetic lyrics address struggle, love, social justice, and healing. Performing in Toronto as a trio with local musicians Anita Graciano (drums) and Sammy Duke (bass), Sariyah will play evocative originals and innovative arrangements of choice covers.
