This is an eclectic group of musicians put together by bassist Oscar Evans. Oscar’s setlist is a reflection of being hugely inspired by Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk, Lester Bowie and Mose Allison. This group fuses free jazz elements with New Orleans/gospel jazz.This four-piece ensemble will also be interpreting some of Oscar’s original music that can be heard on some of his latest recordings. Oscar will be joined by Zachary Nevins, trombone, from Vermont; Sean McCarthy, soprano saxophone, from Toronto; and Andrew McCarthy, drums, from Toronto.
