Drawing from Newfoundland folk roots and contemporary jazz influences, Jessica Spurrell is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter and instrumentalist. She is inspired by music that layers intricate arrangements with thoughtful lyrics– a distinct blend of instrumental and songwriter elements heard in her recent EP, The Gentle Hand, out now on all platforms. Jessica loves to perform live, solo or with-band, sharing stories and laughs from the stage. This summer saw Jessica on an Ontario tour, followed by a quick visit east for a hometown show in St. Johns, Newfoundland. Most recently, she performed at TD Music Hall for The Honey Jam Concert; an exclusive showcase of woman-aligned artists from across Canada. Jessica is a recipient of SOCAN's Young Canadian Songwriters Award and holds a Bachelor of Music from Humber College. Follow her journey online @jessicaspurrell_ or visit www.jessicaspurrell.com.
