Originally from Victoria BC, Josh Warren is a bassist, composer and arranger currently finishing his bachelor's degree in music at Humber College (Toronto, ON).
At only 21 years old, Josh has been featured as both a bandleader and a sideman on many stages across Canada, including the TD International Jazzfest, The Sudbury Jazz Festival, the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival, and the TU Jazzfest (Toronto). Along the way, he's had the opportunity to share the stage and record with internationally recognized talents, including JUNO award-winners such as Ingrid Jensen, Jeremy Ledbetter, and Allison Au, and NYC heavyweights such as Lucy Yeghiazaryan and Grant Stewart.
Lauded for his versatility as a freelance bassist, Josh plays and records in a variety of styles - spanning swinging straight-ahead jazz to high-energy pop, rock, and soul. While rooted in the jazz tradition, Josh’s influences span a diverse range of genres, which is heavily reflected in his original music.
