One of the most arresting voices on the Canadian music scene, often drawing comparisons the legendary Celia Cruz and Cesaria Evora, Lady Son (aka Yeti Ajasin), brings a powerful yet subtle contemporary voice to the rich vocal and percussion traditions of Afro-Cuban music. Having shared the stage with the likes of Oscar D’Leon, Los Van Van, Alfredo de La Fe, Jesus "El Nino" Rivera, Ricardo Lemvo, Voo doo Souljahs, and Toto Berriel, Lady's Son debut album, Semillas (2009) was recognized with a New Music Award for Best World Album. She is currently working on a second full length recording that layers a broad range of musical and cultural styles based in the African Diaspora with her commanding vocals, potent percussion and supremely skilled backing band.
