KALILA BADALI

Kalila Badali is a Toronto-based alternative folk/pop artist and Registered Psychotherapist. Her music blends intricate guitar picking and vocal loops, exploring themes of mental illness, ecology, and feminism. She debuted in 2019 with her EP Perfectly Collapsing, shared on plantable paper to reduce waste, and has been featured on CBC Radio One. Her latest EP, Panacea (2023), received support from the Ontario Arts Council and FACTOR Canada. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Kalila runs a psychotherapy practice focused on neurodivergent, LGBTQ2SIA+, and arts communities, offering Music-Integrated Psychotherapy and workshops on musicians' mental health.

GILLIAN STONE

Gillian Stone is a Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist, interdisciplinary artist, and music researcher. Her vocally-driven work, blending post-rock, folk, and experimental elements, has been called "surreal in its composition" (The Revue). Influenced by Vancouver Island's landscapes, she explores themes of mental health, vulnerability, and destigmatization. Her debut EP, Spirit Photographs (2022), co-produced with Michael Peter Olsen, delves into grief through Elisabeth Kübler-Ross' stages. Currently, Stone is crafting a new album with co-producers Bryan W. Bray and Timothy Condon, exploring intergenerational trauma and the stories of her Icelandic-Canadian foremothers through music and prose.

Ghostly Hounds, the folk project of Francesca Mirai, singer-songwriter-banjo player based in the Lekwungen territory colonially known as Victoria BC, creates soulful folk and old-time music with a distinct, haunting sound.

Drawing inspiration from many genres, Francesca has become known for their unique vocals. They captivate audiences with a clear, soaring range, powerful projection, and just the right amount of grit, coalescing elegantly with traditional and modern banjo instrumentals.

The combination of banjo, met with classically trained, powerhouse vocals, evokes a fusion of modern and vintage sounds, while simple foot percussion infuses dynamics, drive, and rhythm into their live shows.

Francesca’s deeply personal songwriting, focusing on themes of love and grief, has garnered adoration from listeners across Canada and the United States. Their skill as a songwriter, the intimacy and vulnerability of their songs, and their original and soulful arrangements have earned Ghostly Hounds enduring and enthusiastic support from their fans.

Isaak Bonk covers a wide range of vintage blues, jazz and ragtime. Bringing to life music of the past as well as incorporating his own compositions.
