MONDAY

MELANNA
6.15

I am a singer, songwriter and composer performing alternative Latin inspired music, which is a blending of various genres with a Latin flare. I have always been a singer, but over recent years, I delved into learning and playing the guitar during the covid lockdowns. In the course of that time, I learned to play a few bossa nova jazz standards which led me to write my own bossa nova inspired songs among other styles of music. I now play at various venues around the city introducing my unique sound to a new audience.

Erin Browne
8.30

Erin Browne is a 27-year-old Caribbean biracial musician from Scarborough, Ontario, whose work blends folk-inspired alternative music and classic rock with themes of love, loss, and redemption. Growing up as a queer Black woman in a space lacking diversity, Erin initially struggled to find representation in these genres. After years of singing in punk rock bands, she gained the confidence to pursue a solo career, focusing on empowering women who are flawed but resilient. Passionate about diversity in the Canadian music scene, Erin advocates for inclusive, collaborative environments for minorities and women. With classical training in piano, guitar, and vocals, she has released five singles, an EP, and two music videos, earning streams of up to 50K on Spotify. Erin has performed at iconic venues like Lee’s Palace and the Horseshoe Tavern and recently showcased her music in Las Vegas.

Carolina Lopez
11.00

Carolina Lopez is a new voice in the alternative and folk scenes of Toronto with ethereal melodies, devastating lyrics, and an unrelenting finger-picked guitar. Inspired by different musical traditions including Jazz, Electronic, Country Folk, and world music styles like Flamenco, Sufi, and Carnatic music, Carolina creates unique and emotional performances. She uses her love for production to create interesting sonic landscapes that support her heart-felt, rhyme-ridden lyrics inspired by Adrianne Lenker, Bon Iver, Björk, Nick Drake, Radiohead, Imogen Heap, and Arooj Aftab. The songwriting for her project often happens in solitude, but the music is brought to life by the three stellar musicians who accompany her: Samuel Laramee (electric guitar, production), Bjorn Kriel (bass), and Ambrose Veno (drums). Since their initiation into the Toronto music scene, Carolina's band has left a lasting impression on a steadily growing audience. The band's early sound is recorded on an EP released in September: "to me, you are always beautiful". The band is now in the pre-production process for a second release, this time a full-length album.
