SAASHA

“saasha” has been my alternative name for releasing music since I began songwriting in high school. Until now it has served as the moniker for a bandcamp page which has sat untouched since my first year of undergrad while I pursued other creative projects and played/toured with other bands. After leaving Sundried Whales, the band in which I had played for four years and had learned about what it means to be serious about recording, touring, and writing music with friends, I took some time away from music to see if it would call me back. I returned from a lengthy period of travel loaded with songs I’d written in my travel journal and with a renewed desire to write, record, and perform but on my own artistic terms and guided by my own artistic vision. Playing solo as “saasha” shortens the distance between my experiences as a writer and as a performer and as such hopefully entails a more intimate connection between artist and audience.
