JESSE RIVEST
6.00

Jesse Rivest is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who you likely have never heard of. And yet, he's been around for over 18 years... He's been around. Originally from Stony Plain, Alberta, Rivest justifiably calls Kelowna, British Columbia, home. (Ah, but he was born on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario.) He released his first LP in Calgary, Alberta, after travelling and performing around Australia for most of 2005; he had lived in Calgary for a few years up to that point. His next release was an EP made while living in New Zealand for seven years; most of 2011 was spent in Buenos Aires, Argentina; his next EP—and various singles after that—were produced in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, where he's been based since 2013. No wonder you haven't heard of him—he hasn't been around.

TAYLOR ABRAHAMSE
7.00

Like a maple leaf in a gust above the Ontario prairies, Taylor Abrahamse floats blissfully between the borders of song, gender & genre with his/her deftly crafted, hook-laden hammerclaw pop. A Paul Simon/Jim Carrey crossbreed & Kerrville Newfolk Winner, he’ll leave you laughing, inspired, and even singing along - if you can sing that high.

Taylor is also a Canadian Idol & Mariposa showcase finalist, accomplished TV voice actor, and collaborator with emerging & platinum-selling talent for music in feature films & TV. Out of love for Taylor’s songwriting, Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, etc), insisted on co-producing his acclaimed debut studio album. Photo: Joel Esposito

DISCOVERING DINOSAURS
8.30

Discovering Dinosaurs is a Jazz fusion band heavily influenced by the likes of Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra and The Headhunters, composed of Humber students and led by Zachary Dawson. They are very loud and very exciting playing lots of high energy music, with lots of odd meters and even microtonal tunings. The band started as an excuse for Zachary Dawson to get people together to play fusion music and music that he has written but also to impose his love of dinosaurs on everyone around him. And yes they do play tunes named after Dinosaurs.
