A six-piece Toronto-based world music ensemble fronted by powerhouse vocalist and dancer Tamar Ilana and featuring the city’s finest world musicians. Drawing inspiration from such legendary artists as the Silk Road Ensemble, Paco de Lucía, and Yasmin Levy, they reimagine Mediterranean melodies and flamenco grooves, and mix contemporary interpretations of ancient ballads with original compositions.

Trombonecharlotte feat. Laurent Humeau Trombonist and vocalist Charlotte McAfee-Brunner leads a Traditional New Orleans Jazz band with special guest Laurent Humeau on Clarinet and Trumpet. Laurent Humeau is a French multi-instrumentalist based in Berlin, Germany. He plays guitar, clarinet, and trumpet in a variety of styles, from jazz manouche to traditional New Orleans jazz. He is best known as the solo guitarist of the Balkan swing group Django Lassi and as clarinettist/trumpeter in the trad bands the Dizzy Birds, the Jungle jazz band, and the Syncopation Society Orchestra. He collaborates regularly with Meschiya Lake, Igor Spallati, Eldar Tsalikov, Johannes Böhmer, and Roland Satterwhite. He offers occasional workshops for adult musicians on jazz theory and practice. Mike Evin, a pianist and vocalist well-versed in the Traditional Jazz style and drummer extraordinaire Andrew McCarthy turn this band into a party!
