FRIDAY

The Estrellas
6.00

The Estrellas are a project that reimagines traditional Brazilian and Portuguese Fado songs in a jazz setting.

PAPALOTE
8.30

PAPALOTE perform captivating Afro-Cuban music with compelling melodies and lively syncopated rhythms. The band’s unique sound and repertoire is rooted in the Cuban tradition of Son Montuno with its themes of longing, love, and guajira life. Larry Lewis weaves melodies with his Cuban ‘tres’ guitar. Marcus Chonsky marks the pulse on bongos and Eddie Castro provides a propulsive tumbao bassline. Jonno Lightstone’s lyrical horn and flute lines sparkle and Neil Gardiner lays down piano grooves and sings with group choral responses. Like the ‘kite’ of our namesake, the music of PAPALOTE is uplifting.

15$ cover after 10pm, with all proceeds going directly to the musicians performing.
