CHEF MIKEY MIXUP’S ANNUAL COOKOUT
3.00 - late
Buckle up, folks! On August 12th at 3pm, we will be presenting the 1st Annual Chef Mikey Mixup's Cook Out!
Step into the realm of Chef Mikey's culinary fervor, as he unleashes a special menu that is guaranteed Eastern European-free - and that's the whole damn point. While we are a hub of East Euro we also hold space for each member of our family to express whatever strange weirdness the rest of the world refuses to understand. And that's why we've let Chef Mike Brown loose for one whole day.
We're talkin' ribs, corn bread, roast chicken... in a word? It's a fuckin' cookout. And the day is filled with live music all curated by our beloved Chef, starting at 3pm and going all the way into the wee hours of 4am.
You'll have the chance to witness Chef Mike in action, hard at work grilling right on the patio! At 10pm, our regular $15 cover charge will apply and at 11pm our late-night menu will be back in effect.

CAMILO RESTREPO

From mundane to boisterous to outright risqué, Camilo's soloist repertoire ranges from classic Robert Johnson takes, to the more obscure predecessors of the genre, while stopping to salute folk masters such as Dave van Ronk and Doc Watson. Camilo's rendition of classic tunes are meticulously respectful of original recordings while inevitably conveying his personal sensitivities. Camilo plays all around Toronto, a city that continues to provide the atmosphere for him to hone his skills and channel his lifelong love for the Blues.

LAURA HUBERT

Canadian vocal treasure, born and raised in Toronto, Laura Hubert has remained a steady force on the city’s music scene over the past 25 years. Although she retired from rock and roll back per se when JUNO-winning indie-rock group Leslie Spit Treeo split up late last millennium, for several decades now she has been singing her soulful interpretations of vintage blues, jazz and Western swing all over the Greater Toronto Area. “I want to participate in the joy of the world, try to keep it light,” says Hubert. “Just trying to have some fun. Sing some songs. Make some music. Give some joy.
15$ cover after 10pm, with all proceeds going directly to the musicians performing.
DONNE ROBERTS
11.30
Singer-songwriter/guitarist Donné Roberts was born in Madagascar. Now based in Toronto, Canada. He’s earned a matchless reputation for his compositions, strong catchy melodic lines that makes his audience sing along with him during live performances, strong message on the lyrics, also the excitement and the high energy and professionalism of his live shows.
Donné Roberts is a passionate performer. When he hits the stage, he carries with him an energy that immediately exhilarates the crowd even if they've never heard his music before. Donné performs mainly in Malagasy mother tongue from his birthplace of Madagascar. Yet this never proves to be a barrier to the audience, providing living proof that music truly does transcend languages.
