Nour Kheder is a Syrian Canadian singer, songwriter, music educator and actress. She has been performing as a lead singer and choir member with the Canadian Arabic Orchestra for the past seven years. In addition to performing Classical and Arabic music, she is also specialising in Jazz at Humber College. In the past year she has collaborated with Maple Arts to captivate audiences at concert halls across Southern Ontario, written and composed her first single and is expecting to release her full album in the coming months. Nour has showcased exceptional skills and is a promising talent in the Canadian music scene.

Opera Revue began with the question “Why does opera get such a bad rap?”. We came up with several answers: It’s expensive. You have to dress up. It’s snobby. You can’t drink, except during intermission. You can’t talk. It’s snobby. You can’t get up and move around. And it’s snobby.

So, that’s what we have set out to change. We perform opera and more in a fun, casual setting, making opera what it was originally intended to be - entertainment! Laughter, tears and gorgeous music! We aim to take away the exclusive nature of opera so our audiences can feel comfortable to talk, drink, and to share the experience with those around them.
