JONATHAN NVITA & THE ALKEBULAN SOUND
11.30

Jonathan, a singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, Jonathan has had a passion for music since the age of 5. His father was a choir conductor and guitarist, but when his father died, he didn’t get the chance to go to music school to pursue his goal. He studied chemistry and biology because he didn’t have a choice. Even though he was studying another subject in school, music was still his passion. In 2014, Jonathan moved with his family to Canada. When he first arrived in Canada, he studied music at Humber College (vocal major) and continued to pursue his dream of singing and writing.
With the multicultural band, Jonathan incorporates jazz knowledge and his African heritage through songs, rhythm, and dance. He believes that music is spiritual, a tool that helps to communicate with the ancestors, God, and to reconnect with that beautiful land of Africa. He and the band have recently been working on his first album and can't wait to release it. Check out his Instagram page for the announcement at @jonelpianomusic.
