James Margolis is a force to be reckoned with. A powerhouse guitarist, songwriter, and singer from the Philadelphia area. He draws inspiration from delta bluesmen like Skip James and Mississippi John Hurt, as well as Chicago bluesmen such as Magic Sam and Elmore James. He also draws inspiration from jazz, folk, outlaw country, and soul music. With a voice that has been compared to Frank Sinatra, he is known to soulfully belt while finger-picking like Doc Watson. James honed his voice while busking on NYC subway platforms, and has since regionally toured up and down the east coast and more, performing original songs and choice covers from the blues, folk, and soul catalogs.
