Michel is a Mexican/Canadian drummer, percussionist, guitarist and singer-songwriter. Well renowned and sought-after Michel DeQuevedo has played and/or recorded with some of the best artists in Mexico and Canada, including Multi-Grammy award winners Natalia Lafourcade, Julieta Venegas and Molotov; Multi award winner Sultans of String and Juno Award Winners Walk off the Earth, Richard Underhill and Quique Escamilla.
He has played in some of Canada’s best venues such as Massey Hall, Roy Thompson Hall, The Opera House, The Rex Hotel, Lula Lounge, The Reservoir Lounge, etc. and in some of the world’s best music venues including The House of Blues, Blue Note, JC Fandango, Whisky A-Go-Go, Hollywood Palladium, and many more. His latest original project is a mix of Afro-Latin rhythms, Jazz and Pop that brings infectious rhythms combined with complex harmonies and simple melodies.
Michel's original music is inspired by stories, life experiences and everything that moves his soul. The songs draw the listener in, with feelings of positive energy. Michel’s Quartet provides an entertaining show, heating up the night with Latin vibes and bringing together a unique jazz sound to both original and classic Latin songs.
