Heidi Savoie is a pianist, vocalist, and composer based in Etobicoke, Ontario. Her work brings together sincere and stirring melodies with subtle harmonic complexity that invites the listener into a dreamy soundscape.
Her latest offering, “Flowers for Billy” pairs her emotive piano stylings with lush string arrangements in an EP tribute to Billy Strayhorn hailed as “rich …. immediate and vulnerable” (CBC Music, Laila Biali).
Heidi has studied with world-class musicians including Barry Harris, Dave Holland, and Chris Potter. Heidi has performed alongside Canadian greats such as Sarah Slean, the Canadian Tenors, and more. Recent appearances include North York Concert Orchestra, TIFF, Casa Loma, Art Gallery of Hamilton and more.
Heidi teaches piano, singing and composition to all ages, with a “joyful noise” approach to music and life. She also plays weddings and events throughout the GTA. When not occupied with music, Heidi can often be found sewing dresses with pockets.
Blake Hamilton is a string player and pedal builder who studied viola at the University of Toronto. Blake has been making opportunities as a musician for many years, and brings a wealth of performance experience on the Toronto music scene. This musical philosophy has led him to develop versatility between genres and facility over multiple instruments. Saying yes where opportunity strikes has opened the door for plenty of interdisciplinary collaboration.
