THE MARIACHI GHOST

The Mariachi Ghost, from Winnipeg, Canada, summon the ghosts of old Mexico through traditional Mexican song, haunting synths and explosive guitar lines, alongside rich harmonies, commanding lead vocals and spectral dance. Their show leaps from anguish and longing to a raging fury in a heartbeat.

Roda de Samba de Toronto is one of the most traditional grassroots samba bands in Toronto, bringing classic samba to Canada since 2014. A group of friends who first gathered together to play a few gigs during that year’s soccer World Cup, upon great audience feedback and having lots of fun playing together they then moved on to biweekly presentations that became a tradition and fundamental part of the exciting Bloor Street West cultural mix, bringing a loyal and highly energetic crowd to the area on Saturday afternoons for the next four years, and to many other places after that.

With a sound equally identifiable and eclectic, The Plastic Waste Band has carved a new niche for itself from within Montreal’s creative music scene. Born out of jazz and improvised music but drawing from their diverse influences of psychedelic rock, fusion, and beyond, The Plastic Waste Band’s live shows carry the audience through moments of meditative serenity and fiery spontaneity. Layered saxophones, affected guitar, and driving bass and drums sweep the listener into disparate musical environments that feel constantly fresh.
