TICA is the new electro-acoustic sound by vocalist and flamenco dancer, Tamar Ilana, multi-instrumentalist producer, Demetri Petsalakis and Darbuka player Jaash Singh. Together they transform acoustic roots vibes and global classics into an exciting blend of live-looped vocals, dance beats, electric oud, keys and synths - all, of course, with the flair of flamenco! Over the past few years they’ve been part of the Wales International Storytelling Festival, Hinter.live on a frozen lake, Luminato Festival, Muzikstan, DROM Taberna, Nuit Blanche at the Aga Khan Museum and Mundial Montreal pre-WOMEX showcase in Lisbon, Portugal. They'll be joined at the late night DROM session this week by electro-acoustic improviser Patrick O'Reilley.
