Neha Mahajan is a sitarist from the Beenkar Gharana, a renowned family tradition in Raga Music emerging from the stroking style of the ancient Been and the Rabab. She performs Raga , the melodic system at the heart of Indian music, in the Kharaj-Pancham Baaj style, which highlights deep, resonant tones. Trained by her father, Shri Vidur Mahajan, and currently under Ustad Zunain Khan, Neha blends classical tradition with creative innovation and expression. She has performed with Grammy-winning artist Ricky Martin and was recognized with the Young Sitarist Award by Ganvardhan, Pune (2025). With a Master’s in Philosophy, Neha invites audiences to explore the beauty, emotion, and timeless resonance of Raga Music.
Zaheer-Abbas is a Toronto-based tabla player who brings the tradition of tabla to new contexts through his artistic practice and collaborations. He has played extensively in Toronto with various local artists at many of the city's well-known venues. He has also performed across Canada in a variety of classical, semi-classical, and contemporary settings, including appearances such as Sonic Landscapes (Surbahar) with Ustad Irshad Khan, Sufi folk music of Mukhtiyar Ali, and Rifflandia Music Festival. Zaheer-Abbas was musician and musical contributor in WhyNot Theatre’s award-winning staging of Mahabharata, which toured internationally in 2025.

KUNE is a (4-12)-piece collective made up of ten immigrant musicians from all over the world and one Metis-Canadian. Our sound captures the experience of living in Toronto, the world's most diverse city. Through music, we remember where we came from and we envision a pluralistic future.
On Wednesday December 17th, KUNE will be wrapping up their year of musical programming with a collaborative jam event.
