A book launch for Karen. Dubinsky’s  “Strangely Friends, A History of Cuban-Canadian Encounters” with music by Cuba’s Zamira Lacosta and Friends.  

An event to celebrate Canadian and Cuban cultural ties.

Zamira Lacosta is Cuban singer-song writer based in Toronto since 2014. she describes her music as Nueva Trova with pop rock, r&b , flamenco and Afro Cuban sound. Before moving to Canada she was an opera singer for over 10 years. Exploring Musical Theater she discovered her passion for writing and started her music journey as a solo artist. Her music is influenced by Elena Burke, Mercedes Sosa, Rosario Flores, Gipsy kings, Lauryn Hill, jasmine Sullivan, Polo Montanez and Pablo Milanes to mention a few.
