Aleksandr Mikitenko is an indie-underground singer-songwriter, musician and translator from Odessa, Ukraine, who became a refugee along with his family because of the Russian-Ukrainian war and eventually settled in Toronto, Canada.

Aleksandr Mikitenko was a member of a huge Russian-speaking underground punk-rock community and best known as a leader of Istok, a band, that for decades has been playing music influenced by forceful alternative rock, impassioned punk and lyrically searching, singer-songwriter folk. He is also a co-founder of a lo-fi/post-punk duo Libertango along with his wife Marina Polianskaia, who were true followers of the All Wave Philosophy.

Hailing from Prince Edward County and based in Toronto, Miles Cakebread-Kraus is a 23-year-old guitarist and composer. A passionate and creative musician, Miles uniquely blends jazz and improvised music with other genres, such as electronic, folk, and different types of popular music.

He has studied with the likes of Toronto musicians Michael Davidson, Trevor Giancola, Jocelyn Gould, and Kim Ratcliffe, as well as renowned Richmond VA saxophonist Charles Owens. Miles has a unique vision of melody and harmony that brings about captivating and distinctive compositions.

EMILY STEINWALL

Emily Steinwall is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Toronto. In 2021, she released her debut album as a leader called Welcome to the Garden, a bold and genre-defying release which went on to win the 2022 SOCAN songwriter prize. When she is not working as a professional saxophone player, Emily is writing and performing songs that can be described as ethereal, expressive and drawing on a wide range of musical influences. She is currently finishing up her sophomore album, which will be released in spring 2025.
