Demetrios Petsalakis is a Toronto-based composer, performer, and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends Greek, Middle Eastern, and jazz traditions to create a contemporary sound that honours his Greek heritage while engaging with Canada’s multicultural community. He serves as musical director for Kuné and Ahmed Moneka Arabic Jazz, and has performed with world-renowned global music projects including Tafelmusik, Ventanas, and the Maryem Tollar Ensemble.
Demetrios has been recognized with a Dora Award as musical director for the play King Gilgamesh and the Man of the Wild and received a Canadian Folk Music Award for the album Universal Echoes as musical director for Kuné. His own debut album, Monopatia, will be released on February 20, 2026, featuring all original compositions. With a Master's in jazz and deep knowledge of traditional music, Demetrios’ work bridges heritage and innovation, exploring the dialogue between cultural roots and contemporary musical expression with a deeply expressive voice.

Al Qahwa is Maryem Tollar on vocals, riqq (Arabic tambourine) and qanun (Arabic table harp); Ernie Tollar on wind instruments; Waleed Abdulhamid on bass, vocals and percussion; and Naghmeh Farahmand on percussion. For this concert they will be joined by special guest artists Patrick O'Reilly on guitar and Jaash Singh on percussion. Al Qahwa performs original compositions as well as popular traditional Arabic songs, North African groove tunes, with some jazz thrown into the mix.
$15 cover after 10PM and $20 after 2AM, with all proceeds going directly to the musicians performing.

The Humber College Cosmic Funk Ensemble is a collective of musicians brought together by a shared commitment to groove, improvisation, and collaborative music making. The group draws inspiration from the countercultural energy of 1970s funk and plays classic funk repertoire, as well as had collectively composed an original funk opera.
