As founder of the Cuban-Canadian project Habana Safari, Joaquin showcases the evolution of Cuban music—from its early roots to modern interpretations. Habana Safari has developed a contemporary, fresh and unique sound of melodies and songs representative of Afro-Cuban jazz, ideal to dance or just delight in the latin world. Duck Society is a jazz fusion band based in Toronto, consisting of some of the city’s most prominent jazz musicians as well as up-and-coming players. The band plays all original music, with tight arrangements and ample room for experimentation and improvisation. With every composition a story, the band aims to take the audience on a journey, while constantly working to get everyone moving on the floor at the same time.
