ZAMIRA LACOSTA & FRIENDS

Zamira Lacosta is a Cuban singer-songwriter based in Toronto since 2014. She describes her music as Nueva trova with a pop rock, r&b, flamenco and afro cuban sound. Before moving to Canada she was an opera singer for over 10 years. Exploring musical theatre she discovered her passion for writing and started her music journey as a solo artist.  Her music is influenced by artists like Elena Burke, Mercedes Sosa, Rosario Flores, Gipsy Kings, Jasmine Sullivan, Lauryn Hill, Polo Montañez, Pablo Milanes and many more.
