Kalila Badali and Don River
Kalila Badali is an alternative folk/pop artist and Registered Psychotherapist based in Toronto, Canada.
Kalila’s music invites her audience into an ethereal, yet groovy space with an intricate guitar picking style and vocal loops to explore the intersecting themes of mental illness, ecology, and feminism. Kalila’s EP "Perfectly Collapsing" garnered attention on CBC Radio One’s “Big City, Small World." Her 2023 EP, "Panacea" received funding support from the Ontario Arts Council and FACTOR Canada, which allowed her to produced and co-directed her own music videos for Dotty Mae and No Eye Contact.
Kalila has a unique and vibrant psychotherapy practice working with neurodivergent, LGBTQ2SIA+, and arts workers providing Music-Integrated Psychotherapy. This has led to offering workshops to emerging artists on musician’s mental health.
