9pm Moneka Arabic Jazz

A project reflecting Ahmed Moneka’s journey through Toronto’s culture and music scene. It is introducing Maqam, Arabic music skills that he learned in Baghdad, Iraq where he grew up. Also mixed with African grooves and rhythms that Ahmed incorporates from his African roots.

Jazz and blues are fantastic genres to bridge his Afro-Arabic background with a diverse array of Torontonian performers.
