The Horables/Jazz Manouche Caravan (Workshop Wednesdays)

6pm The Horables

This all-female Klezmer and Jazz Manouche band have been performing in Toronto for many years, formed from another popular band and community activist group called Pomegranate.

9pm Jazz Manouche Caravan (Wednesday Workshop)

Join our gypsy jazz jam every Wednesday in March at DROM Taberna and make sure to bring your instruments! This is a chance for all Gypsy jazz musicians, Django lovers and swing dancers to meet each other and grow the gypsy jazz community in Toronto!

Musicians, singers and dancers of all styles and levels interested in jazz manouche welcome, so don’t be shy to come and come out with your instruments to learn and connect with the rest of the community!

The evening will start with a discussion and introduction to the style, with different musicians each week guiding newcomers through playing la pompe rhythm, improvising, and other tips to dive into the style.

After this we will transition to an open jam in which everyone is encouraged to sit, or just enjoy the music!
